School Council

At Caedmon, we have a group of pupils who have been given the opportunity to be part of the School Council. Each year group from years 1 to 6 have two representatives. The school council meets twice every half term to represent the views of all pupils and to improve our school. With a teacher present and facilitating the meetings, the school council meet to share their ideas, talk about what is working well around school and to discuss ways to make improvements. The children take pride in their position and play an important role in our school.

School council plans for this year:

  • Ideas on the kinds of after-school clubs the children would be interested in.
  • Ideas on reward systems in school, including rewards for behaviour and attendance.
  • Ideas on available activities at playtimes.
  • Strengths of our school – what do the children enjoy?
  • Improvements the children would like to see.
  • Fundraising ideas.
  • Any other discussions that arise in meetings throughout the year.

The school council representatives are responsible for being the voice of the other pupils.

From January 2017, the School Council will be collaborating with Doha English Speaking School, Qatar. Please click on the line below to find out more about this school.
